On March 2, 2023, Russian troops shelled the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast almost 80 times. Novgorod-Siverska, Snovska and Semenivska communities came under fire. The enemy shelled the latter the most: twice during the day, twice in the evening and once at night, said Galina Shekhovtsova, spokeswoman of the Chernihiv border detachment. In particular, in the morning at 09:02, the Novgorod-Siversk community was shelled with barrel artillery. Border guards recorded 13 arrivals. The fire started from the Russian village of Sluchovsk. The Snovska community was shelled twice a day — at 12:35 and 1:40 p.m. In the first case, the border guards recorded six explosions from self-propelled guns from the Russian village of Chornozemnii Horodok, in the second - eight explosions from barrel artillery from the side of Maniv. The Semenivsk community began to be shelled from 12:25 p.m. from the Russian village of Opteni. The fire was conducted from mortars of 120 mm caliber. Border guards recorded seven explosions. At 1:00 p.m., the occupiers continued shelling the community with artillery — 30 explosions. Then in the evening, at 11:10 p.m. and at 11:20 p.m., the occupiers launched mortar fire from the same settlement - nine explosions. After midnight, border guards recorded three more shots from a 120 mm mortar. As a result of shelling, several residential buildings in one of the communities were damaged.
